The End of June - A Chronicle
Well this weekend we did not do too much. I am getting braces put on tomorrow. Can't eat nuts, pizza, ice, blizzards, apples, gum, popcorn, suckers, hard candy, gummy bears, raw vegetables, bones, and beef jerky (this one hurts the most). Should be on for only 8 months so thats good I guess.
Our builder called, said that they poured the "walls" and that we should be "under roof" in 6 weeks (approx August 9th). We shall see. Guess we will have to start making trips out there to see what the hell is going on.
Also went and started looking at camcorders today in anticipation of the baby coming...and also to have something to document the house going up. We are trying to look at dates for "showers" as well and we will be in touch about what dates are good for both sides of the family.
Hey Lorrie, its a good thing that we didn't go to Florida this week.

Finally they did something.
The footprint is on the ground here and the forms are set up in anticipation of pouring the walls.

The House?
The latest is that our realtor has passed on the problem up the chain to his boss at Coldwell Banker who is now in contact with the builder's boss to see what the hold up is.
The last we heard, construction start was last Monday, and if not then certainly by Friday...then if not, definately by Monday. Its now Tuesday and guess what, nothing. We do have a work order for what thats worth, and its signed off as of June 20th.
Angie is optimistic but I think I have lost hope that it will ever get done, especially not before the baby gets here. Our hopes of getting into the house and getting everything ready for the baby are fading. We never wanted to convert this "extra bedroom" into a nursery but I guess we will have to. I'm self medicating with Krispy Kremes.
---Meanwhile...
We went to Faust Park this afternoon to listen to an open air band. It was cool, got us out of the house. Otherwise we are not doing too much. Angie cut my hair which was nice. She likes the body pillow, or as I like to call it, "the other man" because its always hiding under the sheets when I get home and she snuggles with it all night.
That is all. Molly says hi.

Mo Money, Mo Money
Supposedly they dug the hole, may or may not have put any concrete in it. I will check on it Thursday.

Ultrasound on Thursday!!!

Meanwhile, nothing really new. I have to work most of the weekend again because of some trades. Angie is doing well, expecting a body pillow in the mail anyday now to help her sleep better.

Groundbreaking News!
Today I received a call from our realtor to inform us that they have broken ground on the lot and plan to pour the forms for the concrete on Monday.
Hurray!
Everything else is going well. Angie and I eagerly await her next Ob appointment.
I did some tinkering on the site today to add a quote of the day and change some text sizes to more of what I like. Check out Lorrie's site...she's getting started on blogging too.

House Update
Well today our home plans have been approved through the City of Arnold. This has been confirmed independent of our builder so we can put some faith that it may be true.
Still do not have a construction start date yet but this represents a step in the right direction.

And today.

I go back to work Thursday after doing a late night shift today as a favor. Hopefully I can keep on track with sleep.
Blog maintenance: had to delete some older photos to make room for new ones. The video took up a lot of room. It will be deleted prob July 1.

The baby's moving !!
Tonight Brian and I felt the baby move!! It was the sweetest sensation since hearing the heartbeat. And this time I'm sure it wasn't gas (ha). We're very excited and eagerly await our new baby. We'll keep you posted on the ultrasound in a few weeks.

Oh Jeez
The House:
So our real estate agent came back from vacation and I sent him over for some investigative journalism on the status on our house. Again the answer was "We are waiting on permits from the City of Arnold"..this is going on 90 days now since we paid earnest money and 30 days since we signed off on the change order sheets. So I called the City of Arnold and spoke with the permit department for new construction...
The nice lady I spoke with said they show no records of any submitted permits for our property. Needless to say I was livid. I called my agent who called the main office to find out what is going on and why the permits have not even been submitted....she said that they were waiting on a plot survey or something before submitting the permits.
Isn't this fun. More news as I hear it.
---------------------------------------
A timeline of what we are doing this month:
June 8th - Brian gets a new tooth to screw in the implant I had placed last year.
June 16th - Ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby.
June 28th - Brian gets braces put on his lower teeth.
Looks like I am trying to make my New Years resolution come true.
----------------------------------------
Lory's Rhabdomyolysis:
Lory seems to be getting better daily. Kidney function is slowly returning to normal, will likely be discharged over the weekend.
----------------------------------------
Miscellaneous:
Some yahoo sped through our apartment complex last night and hit a couple of cars after he reportedly "hydroplaned" on a puddle. Took him 300 feet, 3 cars and a retaining wall to finally stop him. Thankfully this was on the opposite side of the street from where we usually park.
Talk to you later.
