Well we survived the weekend. Angie's contractions have calmed down tremendously. We are thinking it has something to do with the baby being big enough to make the uterus bigger, but not big enough to have it supporting itself in the pelvis, thereby causing a little too much "play" in the ligaments which are spasming, especially when she moves or changes sides. The spasms are sometimes causing the rest of the uterus to contract. Hopefully as the baby gets bigger, the uterus will begin laying more or less over the pubic bone and reducing the movement and tension on the ligaments.
This of course is all a theory. At the next OB appointment, likely they will be able to do a fetal fibronectin level which, if negative, has a 99% certainty that you will not deliver in the next 2 weeks. Also, they will repeat the cervix checks to confirm that the contractions have not resulted in cervical dilation.
FYI, this is day number 166 and we are 24 weeks pregnant. There are 114 days or 16 weeks left, and are 60.0% of the way there. Baby's age since conception is 152 days or 22 weeks. This information provided by Pregnancy Weekly.
